The New England Forestry Foundation (NEFF) leadership and USDA grant partners have unveiled their broad strategic plan for a five-year Climate-Smart Commodities pilot.
Executive Director Bob Perschel, Senior Forest Science and Policy Fellow Alec Giffen, and Deputy Director and Climate Fellow Andi Colnes spoke to the context and framework of the project, the silvicultural approach of the project, and the overview of project elements, respectively.
NEFF was joined by partners Dan Hudnut (Wagner Forest Management, Ltd.), Jeff Spiritos (Spiritos Properties), Richard Campbell (American Forest Foundation), Ted Wright (Trust to Conserve Northeast Forestlands), and Tim Stout (Northam Forest Carbon and private landowner), who provided their unique perspectives on the project to the more than 160 attendees.
