MDAR’s Climate Smart Agriculture Program Now Accepting Applications

MDAR is now accepting applications from agricultural operations interested in participating in the Climate Smart Agriculture Program (CSAP). Proposals are due at 4 pm on Wednesday, June 18th. This grant supports farmers in adapting to changing climate conditions through practices that: 

  • Improve soil health 
  • Ensure the efficient use and availability of water 
  • Prevent impacts on water quality 
  • Reduce energy use and reliance on fossil fuels 
  • Strengthen on-farm food safety 
  • Encourage composting and nutrient recycling 
  • Promote innovative technologies that improve overall resource efficiency 

 

New This Year: CSAP now brings together MDAR’s formerly separate grant programs into a single, streamlined application process. These include: 

  • Agricultural Food Safety Improvement Program (AFSIP) 
  • Agricultural Environmental Enhancement Program (AEEP) 
  • Agricultural Climate Resiliency & Efficiencies Program (ACRE)
  • Agricultural Energy Program (AEP)
  • Agricultural Composting Improvement Program (ACIP)
