The Franklin County Conservation District is leading a project to restore the Sawmill River. At this time, Franklin District is seeking design engineering services to work with conceptual designs and to develop final construction plans to restore an impaired reach of the Sawmill River in western Massachusetts. The goals of the project are to restore the river to a more natural stream channel, decrease sediment load, and improve water quality, as well as wildlife and aquatic habitats using bio-engineered methods.
