Buen Vivir: Celebrating Harmony with Nature and Our Communities

July 24, 2023 - July 29, 2023

The NOFA Summer Conference is the annual summer gathering of the Northeast Organic Farming Association

NOFA is a non-profit organization of over 5,000 small-scale farmers, gardeners, consumers and food system reformers. We promote healthy food, organic regenerative farming practices, and climate disruption solutions through soil management strategies.

The 49th annual NOFA Summer Conference begins online:

Monday, July 24 – Thursday July 27, with evening speakers and workshops.

On Friday July 28 and Saturday July 29, we gather in person and online at Worcester State University, Worcester, MA for knowledge sharing and celebration through:

• Workshops and discussions in English & Spanish

New this year — a Pollinator Track! Whether you’re a seasoned pollinator expert, enthusiast, or starting your exploration of the vital role insects play in our food systems, we think you’ll enjoy these workshops and networking opportunities.

• Racial equity caucus groups

• Children’s programming

• Local food & drinks

• A fair!

Buen Vivir is a contemporary philosophy rooted in Indigenous Andean traditions of collective care, land stewardship and harmonious co-existence

Spend the week engaging with farming technologies, practices and thoughts around good, vital and just living for all at the community scale!

The Summer Conference weekend is online and in Worcester, MA this year

The transition from all-online to hybrid events begins on Friday, July 28, 7 – 9 pm at Worcester State University:

We kick off Friday eve with Organic Salsa: a dance & dj session that’s a celebration of salsa music for everyone! This session w/ skilled dance instructor and party thrower, McCoy Jamison, will directly benefit the NOFA/Mass Food Access, a program connecting marginalized communities to community gardens and local farm food shares

Bring your little ones, ages 5 – 12, for a day of hands-on learning and exploration on campus on Saturday, July 29, concurrent with general workshops and events. Programming for kids includes yoga, pollinator stations, microscope activities, and artmaking.
