Gardening for Biodiversity with Native Plants

February 15, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join Franklin Conservation District’s Native Plants Winter Workshop Series at Sunderland Public Library for a presentation on Gardening for Biodiversity with Heidi Dollard.

The “little things that run the world” are in big trouble: Insect populations are plummeting, and many species are headed for extinction. This spells disaster for our food supply, our ecology, and indeed, life on earth. The good news is that we can turn this around, starting in our own yards. By planting native plants, and other simple steps, we can restore vital insect populations. Come learn what you can do, and be inspired!

Go here to register for this session and to read about the other workshops in this series.

Presenter bio:  Heidi is Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of the Massachusetts Pollinator Network  She works to educate gardeners and homeowners on how they can support pollinators and other beneficial wildlife while creating a beautiful and low maintenance landscape.  Heidi has a Master’s of Science in Biology and is a Master Gardener.  She has been an enthusiastic native plant gardener for many years. Heidi was interviewed twice by local news outlets and her garden was featured on the Fine Gardening blog.
