Forestry Webinar Series: Promoting Productivity in Eastern Oak Ecosystems

January 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
No Cost

Promoting Productivity in Eastern Oak Ecosystems, the webinar will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 – 11 am for two weeks, from January 13 to 22. There are three remaining webinars in the series, including one TODAY AT 10 AM.

In the eastern United States, oaks are abundant and provide significant economic and ecological benefits. However, oak ecosystems have experienced significant changes over the past century due to fire exclusion by suppression, land-use changes, pests, and pathogens. These pressures threaten the long-term sustainability of oak-dominated systems. Research-informed management efforts are critical now, more than ever.

In this four-part webinar series, scientists and natural resource professionals will share actionable strategies for sustainable oak productivity. The series is presented by the Northern Research Station and the Southern Research Station of the USDA Forest Service and is part of the Rooted in Research webinar series.

Each one-hour webinar will consist of several 10 to 20-minute presentations followed by a moderated Q&A session with the audience.

Webinars are eligible for 1 continuing education credit each through the Society of American Foresters, the International Society of Arboriculture, and The Wildlife Society.

Annoyingly, you must register for each of the four webinars separately. Click on the webinar titles below to do that for the three remaining webinars.
