Understanding Invasive Plants: A Walk in Blackstone Gateway Park

Join us for a walk on Tuesday, March 19 from 10AM-12PM at Blackstone Gateway Park in Worcester. Joe Johnson, invasive plant specialist and dedicated Worcester Parks volunteer, will point out various plant communities in the park, focusing on invasive species: identification, control, remediation.

About Joe Johnson, MS Joe grew up in Fall River. He graduated from Bridgewater State in 1978 with a BS degree in Sociology of Urban Affairs with a concentration in Earth Science. He completed the UMass Amherst Green School program in Arboriculture and the certificate program on Invasive Plant Management. Joe is a Worcester Tree Steward, Volunteer Forest Ranger with the Blackstone Collaborative, and Volunteer Ranger for the Greater Worcester Land Trust. Joe runs the Facebook groups Invasive Plants and Insects of Worcester, Massachusetts and Dodge Park Renaissance.
